Predatory Lending Practices
Vanessa LeBrun PREDATORY LENDING News Editing II By Vanessa LeBrun Owning a home to most people is the all American dream. For those who do, it has become a nightmare. Misleading predatory lending practices have resulted in homeowners getting foreclosed. Lenders purposely confuse borrowers with intentions to mislead them into thinking they can afford loans. People in urban communities are often targeted due to the assumption that applications don not get read and are not understood. This economic injustice widely targets African Americans and other minority groups.
Predatory Lending Leniency

Predatory Lending or Ignorant Spending
The media has somehow spun the predatory lending crisis to be the fault of the homeowners.
A news Web site covered predatory lending from the perspective of the victims—homeowners who failed to pay their mortgage on time. On MSNBC.com interviewed a small variety of people who owned homes, but were not qualified to do so.
This web site reflects the views of college and high school youth and interested adult activists about current issues not seen in mainstream media.
